Abstract
The subject matter of this disclosure relates to a method and a system for providing and managing post-purchase rebates and other commercial offers. An example method includes: receiving a notification indicating that a consumer has purchased a product at a store and is requesting a discount for the product, wherein the notification is received in response to a client device of the consumer scanning a QR code on the product; determining that the client device scanned the QR code when the client device was outside of a physical boundary for the store; confirming that the consumer has purchased the product; and providing the consumer with the discount.

A computer-implemented method, comprising, by a processor:
- receiving, at the processor, data from a client device of a user in response to a scan performed by the client device of a code on a product at a store, the data comprising an identifier associated with the code, a location of the client device, and a time of the scan;
- collecting, by the processor, user information associated with the user and context information, wherein the user information comprises at least a spending habit profile, a transaction history, and a demographic profile of the user, wherein the context information comprises the location of the client device and the time of the scan;
- generating, by the processor, an anticipated purchase price for the product for the user at a specific moment by applying a predictive model that processes the user information and the context information in combination, wherein the predictive model evaluates the spending habit profile, the transaction history, the demographic profile, the location of the client device, and the time of the scan in combination to compute the anticipated purchase price for the user, wherein the anticipated purchase price comprises a retail price component and a promotional offer component, and wherein the anticipated purchase price is dynamically modified in real time in response to a change in one or more of the user information or the context information;
- transmitting, by the processor, the anticipated purchase price to the client device for display on the client device;
- tracking, by the processor, performance data associated with the promotional offer component, the performance data indicating whether the promotional offer component resulted in a purchase or an increase in purchase volume;
- and
- using, by the processor, the tracked performance data to determine a new promotion strategy for subsequent promotional offers, wherein determining the new promotion strategy comprises applying the predictive model to the tracked performance data to generate subsequent anticipated purchase prices for subsequent users.
A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- receiving, at a backend component comprising a processor and a memory, data in response to a scan of a code by a client device of a user, wherein the code is associated with a product, wherein the data comprises an identifier associated with the code;
- obtaining, by the backend component, location information of the client device, wherein the location information comprises at least one of a GPS location or an IP address of the client device;
- determining, by the backend component, a date and a time that the code was scanned;
- evaluating, by the backend component, one or more preconfigured redirect rules based on the location information and the date and time that the code was scanned, wherein the one or more preconfigured redirect rules specify at least a time criterion and a location criterion associated with a first promotional offer;
- in response to determining that the scan satisfies the time criterion and the location criterion, causing a first webpage to be loaded on the client device, the first webpage presenting the first promotional offer to the user;
- and
- in response to determining that the scan does not satisfy at least one of the time criterion or the location criterion, causing a second webpage, different from the first webpage, to be loaded on the client device, the second webpage presenting one or more of a second promotional offer, a product price, or other product information.
