Abstract
An electronic shelf label system, comprising a number of display devices to display content on its screen or its screens, each device comprises a memory stage to store content data, and a control stage to control the display of the content on its screen; wherein the screen is a video screen and realizes a shelf rail or covers a front of a shelf rail or a part of it to which it is attachable, and the content is a video and the memory stage stores the entire video data of the video, and the control stage is designed to define a display window for the video and to display only the video content within the display window on its screen.
Claims23
An electronic shelf label system that comprises:
- display devices;
- and
- video screens,
- wherein each of the video screens realizes a shelf rail or covers a front of the shelf rail or a part of the shelf rail to which the screen is attachable,
- wherein each of the display devices is configured to drive one or more of the video screens,
- the electronic shelf label system further comprises:
- a first server that is arranged to distribute video data of an entire video to a group comprising a plurality of the display devices upfront to playback start,
- wherein each of the display devices comprises a memory stage to store the video data of the entire video,
- the electronic shelf label system further comprises:
- a portable remote control that is different from the first server,
- wherein the remote control is configured to display the video data, to receive a user interaction, and to generate definition data representing at least one parameter for one or multiple display windows according to the received user interaction,
- wherein each display window represents a video zoom section that is to be shown by the respective video screen linked with it, within a video picture of the entire video,
- wherein the remote control is configured to submit the definition data to one of the display devices that drives the screen linked to the display window,
- wherein each of the display devices is configured to receive the definition data via a direct data connection with the portable remote control and comprises a control stage configured to control the display of the video on its screen or screens,
- wherein
- the control stage is configured to define the display window for its screen or screens in accordance with the received definition data, such that only the video zoom section of the video picture is displayed on its screen or screens that was set by a user interaction on the remote control.
An electronic shelf label system, comprising one or more display devices,
- each display device being configured to display content on its screen or its screens,
- each display device comprising:
- a memory stage configured to store a video, and
- a control stage configured to control the display of the video on its screen,
- wherein
- each screen is a video screen, and each screen realizes a shelf rail or covers a front of the shelf rail or covers a part of the shelf rail to which the screen is attachable,
- the control stage is configured to define one or more display windows within the video, each display window comprising a portion of the video and corresponding with one or more of the screens,
- the control stage is further configured to display the portion of the video within each display window on the corresponding one or more of the screens,
- the electronic shelf label system further comprises a remote control configured to:
- define, for each of the one or more display windows, at least one parameter of the display window for playback of the video within the display window,
- generate definition data representing the at least one parameter for the one or more of the display windows, and
- submit the definition data to one or more of the display devices that drive the screen linked to the one or more of the display windows,
- wherein each display device is configured to receive the definition data and to define the display window based on the received definition data, wherein the parameter of the display window is at least one of the group of:
- width, height, ratio of width to length, position along the width of a video picture, position along the height of the video picture.
