Abstract

An image forming apparatus is connected to one or more optional devices holding setting information, and includes a storage processing portion, a reception processing portion, and a restoration processing portion. The storage processing portion stores the setting information of each of the optional devices connected to the image forming apparatus which is acquired from the optional device in a storage portion provided outside the optional device. The reception processing portion receives a designation operation for designating one of the optional devices connected to the image forming apparatus. The restoration processing portion restores the setting information of a designated device designated by the designation operation stored in the storage portion by the storage processing portion in advance in the designated device.
