Abstract
A position detection method for detecting a position of an active pen using a sensor including a plurality of sensor electrodes. The method includes changing, according to a pen pressure value indicating pressure applied to a pen tip of the active pen, a number of the sensor electrodes used to detect the active pen; and detecting the position of the active pen by performing a scan using the number of the sensor electrodes of the sensor.

A position detection method for detecting a position of an active pen using a sensor including a plurality of sensor electrodes, the method comprising:
- changing, according to a pen pressure value indicating pressure applied to a pen tip of the active pen, a number of the sensor electrodes used to detect the active pen;
- and
- detecting the position of the active pen by performing a scan using the number of the sensor electrodes of the sensor.
A position detection device that detects a position of an active pen using a sensor including a plurality of sensor electrodes, the position detection device comprising:
- a controller that, in operation, changes, according to a pen pressure value indicating pressure applied to a pen tip of the active pen, a number of the sensor electrodes used to detect the active pen, and detects the position of the active pen by performing a scan using the number of the sensor electrodes of the sensor.
