Abstract

An autonomous golf cart includes a chassis, a plurality of tractive elements, a driveline, one or more sensors, a storage area configured to hold a golf bag, and an occupant area. The one or more sensors are configured to facilitate detecting occupancy within or on the autonomous golf cart. The occupant area includes operator controls configured to facilitate a manual mode of operation of the autonomous golf cart by a golfer. The autonomous golf cart also includes a control system configured to operate the autonomous golf cart in an autonomous mode of operation while the golfer is not within or on the autonomous golf cart, acquire a signal from the one or more sensors, and manipulate the autonomous mode of operation in response to the signal indicating that the golfer is within or on the autonomous golf cart.

Dependent claims

An autonomous golf cart comprising:

a chassis;
a plurality of tractive assemblies coupled to the chassis;
a driveline including a prime mover configured to drive one or more of the plurality of tractive assemblies;
one or more sensors configured to facilitate detecting occupancy within or on the autonomous golf cart;
a storage area configured to hold a golf bag;
an occupant area having operator controls configured to facilitate a manual mode of operation of the autonomous golf cart by a golfer;
and
a control system configured to:
operate the autonomous golf cart in an autonomous mode of operation while the golfer is not within or on the autonomous golf cart;
acquire a signal from the one or more sensors;
and
manipulate the autonomous mode of operation in response to the signal indicating that the golfer is within or on the autonomous golf cart.
