Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image forming portion configured to form a toner image on a recording material;
• a fixing portion configured to apply heat to the recording material on which the toner image is formed and to fix the toner image onto the recording material;
• a storage portion in which information on a target temperature of the fixing portion is stored corresponding to a type of the recording material;
• an acquiring portion configured to acquire the information on the type of the recording material on which the toner image is formed;
• and
• a controller configured to set the target temperature required to fix the toner image on the recording material based on the information on the type acquired by the acquiring portion and the information on the target temperature stored in the storage portion,
• wherein in the storage portion, information on a temperature range from a lower limit value to an upper limit value of the target temperature is stored corresponding to the type of the recording material, and
• wherein the controller, when executing a job for forming the toner image on a plurality of recording materials including a first recording material of a first type and a second recording material, succeeding to the first recording material, of a second type, before the toner image is formed on the first and the second recording materials, acquires the information on the types of the first and the second recording material and acquires the information on a first temperature range which is the temperature range corresponding to the first type and a second temperature range which is the temperature range corresponding to the second type, and
• wherein the controller sets the target temperature at a temperature within the overlapped temperature range in a case in which there is an overlapped temperature range where the first temperature range and the second temperature range overlap each other.
