Image forming apparatus that forms image on sheet using rotary developing scheme

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• a rotary to and from which a toner cartridge containing toner is attachable and detachable, the rotary including a developing roller and a containing unit that contains toner supplied from the toner cartridge;
• and
• a processor configured to control rotation of the rotary,
• wherein the rotary is switchable to a replenishment posture in which the containing unit is replenished with the toner from the toner cartridge,
• the processor executes a replenishment mode in which the rotary is rotated to be in the replenishment posture,
• a state of the containing unit in a case where a remaining toner amount of the containing unit is greater than a first threshold is a first state,
• a state of the containing unit in a case where the remaining toner amount of the containing unit is less than the first threshold is a second state,
• an amount of time that the rotary is in the replenishment posture in the replenishment mode executed in a case where the containing unit is in the first state is a first amount of time,
• an amount of time that the rotary is in the replenishment posture in the replenishment mode executed in a case where the containing unit is in the second state is a second amount of time, and
• the processor executes the replenishment mode in such a manner that the second amount of time is longer than the first amount of time.
