The automatic analyzer includes one or more mechanisms used for analysis of the specimen; a main cover, a reagent cover, and a specimen cover that cover one or more of the mechanisms; and open and close sensors and that sense opening and closing of the main cover, the reagent cover, and the specimen cover, in which when it is sensed by the open and close sensors that the main cover, the reagent cover, and the specimen cover are opened, a control unit displays guidance on a display unit so that a user performs the work necessary for the analysis.
