Abstract
A non-powered thermal transfer blanket, including a flexible container with a thermally insulating material and a thermally transparent layer; and a thermal energy storage media disposed within the flexible container and in thermal communication with the thermally transparent layer. The thermal energy storage media comprises a heat sink material for storing and releasing thermal energy with no electrical power and is configured to be charged with thermal energy from a high temperature heat source from 120° F. to 1700° F., and wherein the thermal energy storage media releases thermal energy stored in the thermal energy storage media through the thermally transparent layer.

A non-powered thermal transfer blanket, comprising:
- a flexible container comprising a thermally insulating material and a thermally transparent layer;
- and
- a thermal energy storage media disposed within the flexible container and in thermal communication with the thermally transparent layer,
- wherein the thermal energy storage media comprises a heat sink material for storing and releasing thermal energy with no electrical power and is configured to be charged with thermal energy from a high temperature heat source from 120° F. to 1700° F., and
- wherein the thermal energy storage media releases thermal energy stored in the thermal energy storage media through the thermally transparent layer.
A non-powered thermal transfer blanket, comprising:
- a flexible container comprising a thermally insulating material and a thermally transparent layer, the thermally insulating material capable of withstanding temperatures of 300° F. or more and the thermally transparent layer having a thickness from about 0.001 inch to about 0.01 inch;
- and
- a thermal energy storage media disposed within the flexible container and in thermal communication with the thermally transparent layer,
- wherein the thermal energy storage media comprises an electrical insulator and heat sink material with a specific heat capacity ranging from about 500 J/kgK to about 1000 J/kgK for storing and releasing thermal energy with no electrical power when charged with thermal energy from a high temperature heat source from 120° F. to 1700° F.,
- wherein the thermal energy storage media releases thermal energy stored in the thermal energy storage media through the thermally transparent layer, and
- wherein the thermally insulating material maintains thermal energy within the thermal energy storage media to reduce heat loss.
