An aircraft engine includes a gas path annularly extending around a central axis in serial flow communication across a compressor and turbine. The turbine has a casing, a shroud secured to the casing, and blades radially inward of the shroud, with a clearance defined between blade tips and the shroud. An active tip clearance control device for directing a flow of cooling air to the casing includes a first cooling air source at a first temperature, a second cooling air source at a second temperature than the first temperature, and a valve having a first inlet fluidly connected to the first air source, a second inlet fluidly connected to the second air source, and an outlet selectively connectible to the first and second inlets. The outlet is fluidly connected to the casing to selectively direct the flow of air from the first or second air source to the casing.
An aircraft engine, comprising:
2-3. (canceled)
A system for controlling a clearance between tips of turbine blades and a turbine casing in an aircraft engine, comprising:
10-11. (canceled)
A method for controlling a clearance between turbine blades and a turbine casing in an aircraft engine, comprising:
