Abstract

The present invention relates to an antibacterial protein SSL200 having a specific antibacterial activity against Staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus. More specifically, the present invention relates to: an antibacterial protein SSL200 specific for Staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus, the protein being characterized by having the ability to specifically lyse Staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus and having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1; and a composition for treating infections caused by Staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus, the composition comprising, as an active ingredient, the antibacterial protein SSL200 specific for Staphylococci including Staphylococcus aureus.
