Abstract
A system and a method for a cup for retaining a liquid. The system includes a base and a wall. The base and the wall define a container with a space to retain the liquid. A first closure flap and a second closure flap are attached to the wall and extend from the wall. The first closure flap and the second closure flap are foldable relative to the wall. The first closure flap and the second closure flap are foldable between an open position and a closed position. The first closure flap and the second closure flap define a lid when in the closed position. The lid is defined by the first closure flap being folded at least twice to a closed position and the second closure flap being folded at least once to a closed position.
Claims21
A cup manufactured, at least in part, from a paper based material, the cup comprising:
- a base;
- a wall extending from the base, enclosing the base and defining an opening opposite the base;
- a first closure flap attached to the wall at a first curved fold feature and including a curved edge, wherein the first closure flap is foldable about the first curved fold feature to at least partially cover the opening;
- a second closure flap attached to the wall at a second curved fold feature, wherein the second closure flap is foldable about the second curved fold feature to at least partially cover the opening, wherein, when the first closure flap is folded about the first curved fold feature, the first closure flap has a length that extends across the opening, wherein the curved edge of the first closure flap rests in contact with the second curved fold feature.
A cup manufactured, at least in part, from a paper based material, the cup comprising:
- a base;
- a wall extending from the base, enclosing the base and defining a lid border opposite the base;
- a first closure flap attached to the wall at a first fold feature, and foldable about the first fold feature to at least partially form a lid of the cup;
- a second closure flap attached to the wall at and foldable aboutt a second fold feature, to at least partially form the lid of the cup, wherein, when the first closure flap is folded about the first fold feature, the first closure flap has a length that extends across an opening, and wherein at least part of an edge of the first closure flap rests in contact with at least part of the second fold feature.
A cup manufactured, at least in part, from a paper based material, the cup comprising:
- a base;
- a wall extending from the base, enclosing the base and defining an opening opposite the base;
- a first closure flap attached to the wall at a first curved fold feature and foldable about the first curved fold feature to at least partially cover the opening;
- a second closure flap attached to the wall at a second curved fold feature, wherein the second closure flap is foldable about the second curved fold feature to at least partially cover the opening, wherein the first closure flap includes opposed side flaps attached to the wall at a straight side fold feature, and an intermediate flap, wherein the opposed side flaps each includes a first curved portion and a second curved portion, and wherein the first curved portion has a first perimeter length that is different to a second perimeter length of the second curved portion.
