The invention relates to a seatbelt retractor for attachment in and/or on a backrest of a vehicle seat, wherein the seatbelt retractor has a housing in which a seatbelt shaft is mounted so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation, around which seatbelt shaft a seatbelt of the seatbelt retractor can be wound, wherein the seatbelt is guided out of the seatbelt retractor through an outlet opening. Two attachment arms, which project radially in relation to the axis of rotation of the seatbelt shaft and are spaced apart from one another are provided on the housing for attaching the seatbelt retractor in or on the backrest of the vehicle seat and are designed for pivotable attachment to the backrest.
