A gripping device (1), comprising: a rod (2) provided with a first abutment (3) and a second abutment (4), a polymer sleeve (5) crossed by the rod and having a first end (6) and a second end (7), the first end (6) being in contact with the first abutment; a first pressure piece (8) configured to exert a pressure on the second end (7) of the sleeve (5); a spring (9) crossed by the rod and disposed between the first pressure piece (8) and the second abutment and a means (10) for compressing the spring, an action on the means for compressing the spring causing, via the first pressure piece (8), a shrinkage in the length of the sleeve in the axial direction and an expansion of the sleeve in the radial direction.
