Abstract
A golf tee positioning system includes a turf simulating pad, a golf tee apparatus, and a golf tee. The golf tee apparatus includes a holder and a removable tee insert configured for use with the golf tee. The system enables a golf ball to be held in a stationary orientation by the golf tee at selectable, fixed heights above a reference surface.

A golf tee apparatus comprising:
- a holder that includes a holder body and a cavity contained within the holder body and configured to receive and retain a removable tee insert;
- and
- the removable tee insert configured to be removably mounted within the cavity of the holder, the removable tee insert comprising:
- an insert body;
- and
- a plurality of receptacles within the insert body, each of the receptacles configured to receive a golf tee, and each of the receptacles having a distal depth relative to a proximal surface of the removable tee insert.
