Abstract
The present invention is a golf tee that includes a head portion configured to lift a golf ball using airflow generated by a golf club head, a base portion, and a shaft portion. The head portion has an upper head portion, a curved chamfer portion, a lower head portion, and an air-guiding channel portion.
Claims20
A golf tee, comprising:
- a head portion configured to lift a golf ball using airflow generated by a golf club head, the head portion comprising:
- a upper head portion configured to hold the golf ball, the upper head portion having an upper head portion radius and a bottom;
- a curved chamfer portion abutting the bottom of the upper head portion, the curved chamfer portion having a curved chamfer portion radius;
- a lower head portion abutting the curved chamfer portion, the lower head portion having a lower head portion radius, wherein the upper head portion radius is larger than the lower head portion radius;
- and
- an air-guiding channel portion configured to direct airflow toward the golf ball, the airflow being generated by the swing of the golf club head, wherein the directed airflow creates a lifting force sufficient to elevate the golf ball above the upper head portion prior to impact by the golf club head;
- a base portion configured to be inserted into the ground, the base portion having a tapered or pointed end to facilitate penetration into various soil types;
- and
- a shaft portion extending upward from the base portion, the shaft portion configured to support the head portion.
