A sensor belt for peritoneal dialysis, configured to be worn by a patient during a peritoneal dialysis treatment, the patient having a back, an abdomen, and a peritoneal dialysis access formed through a region of the abdomen, the sensor belt comprising:
- a belt comprising a mid-length section having a length, a first side panel having a length, a second side panel having a length, and a middle flap, the belt having an overall length that is defined by the sum of the lengths of the mid-length section, the first side panel, and the second side panel;
- and
- a sensor panel comprising an ultrasonic sensor secured to the middle flap, the ultrasonic sensor being configured on or in the middle flap such that the ultrasonic sensor is aligned with and surrounds the peritoneal dialysis access when the sensor belt is worn by the patient, wherein
- the mid-length section is configured to contact the back of the patient while the patient is wearing the belt,
- the first side panel and the second side panel are provided with cooperating fasteners or fastener portions that are configured to secure the first side panel to the second side panel at the abdomen of the patient while the patient is wearing the belt,
- the first side panel comprises an upper closure panel and a lower closure panel,
- the upper closure panel is configured to wrap at least partially around the abdomen of the patient, above the peritoneal dialysis access, and fasten to the second side panel, while the patient is wearing the belt,
- the lower closure panel is configured to wrap at least partially around the abdomen of the patient, below the peritoneal dialysis access, and fasten to the second side panel, while the patient is wearing the belt,
- the upper closure panel and the lower closure panel are spaced apart from each other at the peritoneal dialysis access, such that neither the upper closure panel nor the lower closure panel covers the peritoneal dialysis access while the patient is wearing the belt, and
- the sensor panel is configured to wrap at least partially around the abdomen of the patient, cover the peritoneal dialysis access, and align the ultrasonic sensor with the region of the abdomen where the peritoneal dialysis access is located, while the patient is wearing the belt.
