Abstract
A positioning system for a surgical procedure is provided. The positioning system may include a surgery table, a spar base, and a spar extending from the spar base to support at least one leg of a patient. The spar base may be positioned beneath a platform of the surgery table and may translate a distance along the surgery in a direction from the distal end to the proximal end of the surgery table.
Claims20
A system for supporting a patient for a surgical procedure, the system comprising:
- a platform comprising a distal end, a proximal end opposing the distal end, and opposing lateral sides comprising a first lateral side and a second lateral side, the platform configured to support at least a portion of the patient;
- a spar base positioned beneath the platform at the distal end of the platform and disposed along at least one of the lateral sides;
- a spar configured to extend from the spar base and configured to support a leg of the patient, the spar comprising an inside edge, the spar further configured to extend lateral to a hip and at least a portion of the leg of the patient;
- and
- a top-down lower body imaging window bounded on two adjacent sides by a superior side located at least at the distal end of the platform and a lateral side at the inside edge of the spar, wherein any portion of the system comprised within the lower body imaging window is radiolucent.
A system for supporting a patient for a surgical procedure, the system comprising:
- a surgery table comprising a distal end, a proximal end opposing the distal end, a platform configured to support at least a portion of the patient, a column configured to support the platform and a base configured to support the column;
- a pelvic center board coupled to the surgery table at the distal end and configured to allow imaging of at least one of at least a portion of a hip of the patient or at least a portion of a pelvis of the patient;
- a perineal post coupled to the pelvic center board;
- an adapter configured to couple the pelvic center board to the surgery table,
- an imaging path configured to allow a portion of a C-arm under the platform and adjacent to the column and to image at least one of a hip or a pelvis of a patient at an imaging angle of between about 45 degrees and about 55 degrees, wherein the system for supporting a patient for a surgical procedure is configured not to block the imaging path;
- and
- a spar configured to extend from the surgery table and configured to support a leg of the patient, and further configured to extend lateral to a hip and at least a portion of the leg of the patient,
- wherein a combined height of the spar, the pelvic center board, and the perineal post comprises a distance between about 15 inches and about 30 inches.
