Abstract
Embodiments described herein relate to an improved footwear and methods for making and using the improved footwear, to provide improved structural support and comfort for a user. Embodiments described herein also relate to an improved footwear including a multi-layered midsole configured to provide improved support and comfort during use, while also providing antimicrobial protection to the user's foot.
Claims21
-20. (canceled)
A shoe, comprising:
- an outsole;
- an insole lining having a porosity sufficient to allow passage of a fluid;
- an insole having a porosity sufficient to allow passage of a fluid;
- a first material layer including antimicrobial particles configured to interact with a fluid;
- and
- a second material layer disposed between the first material layer and the outsole and configured to oppose, during operation, a deformation of the first material layer,
- the first material layer disposed between the second material layer and the insole,
- the insole lining, the insole, the first material layer, and the second material layer coupled together to define a board that is coupled to the outsole, the insole lining including (1) a first portion that is disposed at a toe end of the shoe and between the second material layer and the outsole, (2) a second portion that is disposed at a heel end of the shoe and between the second material layer and the outsole, and (3) a third portion that is configured to be disposed between the insole and a foot.
5 more elements
A method of making a shoe, comprising:
- joining, via compression, a first material layer and a second material layer together to form a fused layer, each of the first material layer and the second material layer having a predetermined shape, the second material layer configured to oppose, during operation, a deformation of the first material layer;
- aligning an insole with the fused layer to define an intermediary board, the insole having a porosity sufficient to allow passage of a fluid;
- covering the insole with an insole lining having a first portion that extends beyond a first edge of the intermediary board and a second portion that extends beyond a second edge of the intermediary board, the first edge of the intermediary board being opposite to the second edge of the intermediary board, the insole lining having a porosity sufficient to allow passage of a fluid, the first material layer including antimicrobial particles configured to interact with a fluid;
- stretching the first portion of the insole lining such that the first portion of the insole lining overhangs, is tucked under, and is fastened to the second material layer at the first edge of the intermediary board;
- stretching the second portion of the insole lining such that the second portion of the insole lining overhangs, is tucked under, and fastened to the second material layer at the second edge of the intermediary board, to define an insole board;
- and
- fastening the insole board to an outsole such that each of the first portion of the insole lining and the second portion of the insole lining is disposed between the insole board and the outsole.
