A customizable hair system comprising a dome shaped base having a topper portion and a midsection portion, wherein the midsection portion comprises a plurality of cells, and wherein each of the plurality of cells is configured to be removable. A method of providing a customized hair system to a user comprising providing a dome shaped base having a topper portion and a midsection portion, wherein the midsection portion comprises a plurality of cells, and wherein each of the plurality of cells is configured to be removable. A user's scalp is examined for areas of high hair density and at least one cell of the dome shaped base is identified that corresponds to the areas of high hair density on the user's scalp, and the at least one cell is removed to create a customized base. The customized base is affixed to the user's scalp.
