Secure zero touch provisioning of network devices using bluetooth application

A network device, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising instructions for:
• establishing, by a Secure Zero Touch Provisioning (SZTP) agent on the network device, a first connection with an SZTP application on a computing device within operational range of a first communication channel;
• receiving, by the SZTP agent on the network device, a first SZTP artifact for provisioning the network device from the SZTP application over the established first connection;
• determining, by the SZTP agent on the network device, whether the first SZTP artifact includes redirect information;
• when the first SZTP artifact includes redirect information:
• establishing a second connection to a SZTP bootstrap server based on the redirect information;
• receiving, by the SZTP agent on the network device, a second SZTP artifact for provisioning the network device from the SZTP bootstrap server over the established second connection;
• and
• when the first SZTP artifact does not include redirect information:
• attempting, by the SZTP agent on the network device, provisioning the network device using the first SZTP artifact or the first connection with the SZTP application.

A non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising instructions for:

• establishing, by a Secure Zero Touch Provisioning (SZTP) agent on the network device, a first connection with an SZTP application on a computing device within operational range of a first communication channel;
• receiving, by the SZTP agent on the network device, a first SZTP artifact for provisioning the network device from the SZTP application over the established first connection;
• determining, by the SZTP agent on the network device, whether the first SZTP artifact includes redirect information;
• when the first SZTP artifact includes redirect information:
• establishing a second connection to a SZTP bootstrap server based on the redirect information;
• receiving, by the SZTP agent on the network device, a second SZTP artifact for provisioning the network device from the SZTP bootstrap server over the established second connection;
• and
• when the first SZTP artifact does not include redirect information:
• attempting, by the SZTP agent on the network device, provisioning the network device using the first SZTP artifact or the first connection with the SZTP application.
