Abstract
A color of a physical background area located behind a participant device used to participate in a video conference is determined. An object having an object color is identified within a virtual background of a video stream associated with the video conference. A hue of the object color and a hue of the color of the physical background area are determined to be a same hue. The video stream is modified to change the object color to a modified object color that reduces similarity between the object color and the color of the physical background area.

A method, comprising:
- determining a color of a physical background area located behind a participant device used to participate in a video conference;
- identifying, within a virtual background of a video stream associated with the video conference, an object having an object color;
- determining that a hue of the object color and a hue of the color of the physical background area are a same hue;
- and
- modifying the video stream to change the object color to a modified object color that reduces similarity between the object color and the color of the physical background area.
A system, comprising:
- one or more memories;
- and
- one or more processors configured to execute instructions stored in the one or more memories to:
- determine a color of a physical background area located behind a participant device used to participate in a video conference;
- identify, within a virtual background of a video stream associated with the video conference, an object having an object color;
- determine that a hue of the object color and a hue of the color of the physical background area are a same hue;
- and
- modify the video stream to change the object color to a modified object color that reduces similarity between the object color and the color of the physical background area.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions operable to cause one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- determining a color of a physical background area located behind a participant device used to participate in a video conference;
- identifying, within a virtual background of a video stream associated with the video conference, an object having an object color;
- determining that a hue of the object color and a hue of the color of the physical background area are a same hue;
- and
- modifying the video stream to change the object color to a modified object color that reduces similarity between the object color and the color of the physical background area.
