Abstract

An image reading apparatus includes an operation device, a communication device, and a controller. The operation device allows a user's instruction to be input. The communication device performs communications via a network with an information processing device. When accepting specification of a port number through the operation device, the controller allows the communication device to use a specified port corresponding to the specified port number to send to-be-sent data to a shared folder on the information processing device. Upon failure to establish a connection with the information processing device using the specified port, the controller allows the communication device to use another port different from the specified port to send the to-be-sent-data to the shared folder.
