An overmolded cooling manifold of a stator of an electric machine is disclosed that may be assembled more efficiently than other cooling systems. The manifold may be formed by overmolding a first side of a first half of the stator and a second side of a second half of the stator, where the first side and the second side face each other at an axial center of the stator. The first half and the second half may then be clamped together using bolts, or locked together using various interlocking axial features formed in each side of the manifold. An interference fit of the various interlocking axial features may advantageously provide mechanical retention of windings of the stator. The overmolded manifold may enable in-slot cooling in a way that cools the hottest part of the electric machine.
