A shielded connector assembly comprising a high-speed connector housing and an outer conductive spatial shield configured to at least partially surround the housing. The outer conductive spatial shield includes a top wall and at least one side wall defining an interior cavity. Slot apertures are formed in the at least one side wall, arranged in a slot array and dimensioned such that at least one geometric parameter corresponds to a fraction of a wavelength of targeted electromagnetic interference frequencies, whereby the slot array functions as a frequency-selective structure that attenuates electromagnetic energy at the targeted frequencies. A bottom flange of the outer conductive spatial shield may be continuously soldered to a printed circuit board to establish a substantially continuous low-impedance ground path. At least one lanced feature extends into the interior cavity, configured to provide electrical engagement between the outer conductive spatial shield and the high-speed connector housing.
