Systems and methods for documenting emergency care

A system for providing documentation of emergency medical events related to treatment of a patient, the system comprising:

• a mobile computing device having a user interface and at least one processor and memory configured to
• receive a plurality of inputs via the user interface for generating a plurality of time-stamped log entries that mark events that occurred during treatment of the patient,
• display on the user interface an option to select between a first documentation mode and a second documentation mode,
• wherein when the first documentation mode is selected the user interface provides a first set of input options to include in the plurality of time-stamped log entries, and
• when the second documentation mode is selected the user interface provides a second set of input options to include in the plurality of time-stamped log entries, the second set being distinct from the first set,
• establish a communicative connection with at least one of a medical device and another computing device to access an additional plurality of time-stamped log entries, and
• present a single consolidated event log via the user interface that includes a plurality of events associated with the plurality of time-stamped log entries and an additional plurality of events associated with the additional plurality of time-stamped log entries.

A mobile computing device to document emergency medical events related to treatment of a patient, the mobile computing device comprising:

• a memory;
• a touchscreen;
• and
• a processor coupled to the memory and the touchscreen and configured to
• receive a plurality of inputs via the touchscreen for generating a plurality of time-stamped log entries that mark events that occurred during treatment of the patient, and
• display on the touchscreen an option to select between an adult documentation mode and a pediatric documentation mode,
• wherein when the adult documentation mode is selected the touchscreen provides adult-specific input options to include in the plurality of time-stamped log entries, and when the pediatric documentation mode is selected the touchscreen provides pediatric-specific input options to include in the plurality of time-stamped log entries.
