Abstract
A sound bar comprising a prismatic bar having four faces, a first end and a second end, a first notch on a first face of the bar, and a second notch on a second face of the bar, wherein the first face is orthogonal to the second face. Also described herein is a method of making a sound bar, and a musical instrument comprising the sound bars.
Claims20
A sound bar comprising:
- a prismatic bar having four faces, a first end and a second end;
- a first notch on a first face of the bar;
- and
- a second notch on a second face of the bar;
- wherein the first face is orthogonal to the second face.
2 more elements
A method of making and tuning a sound bar to multiple target frequencies, comprising:
- (a) measuring the frequency of an uncut sound bar;
- (b) determining a first and a second target frequency;
- (c) calculating a first and a second notch size based on the first and second target frequency;
- (d) cutting into the bar on the first face to the calculated first size, and on the second face to the calculated second size;
- (e) measuring the first and second new frequencies of the cut bar;
- and
- (f) iteratively repeating the steps (a)-(e) based on the measured new frequencies until the multiple target frequencies are reached.
4 more elements
A musical instrument comprising:
- one or more sound bars, each sound bar comprising:
- a prismatic bar having four faces, a first end and a second end;
- a first notch on a first face of the bar;
- and
- a second notch on a second face of the bar;
- wherein the first face is orthogonal to the second face;
- and
- a first base rod and a second base rod positioned parallel to each other;
- wherein the one or more sound bars are positioned perpendicular to the base rods, and each sound bar is attached at a first position to the first base rod, and at a second position to the second base rod.
