Abstract
An inspection apparatus configured to be communicably connected to an image forming apparatus for printing an image on a sheet, includes a controller for receiving at least a reference image and print setting information, registering the reference image based on the print setting information, receiving a scanned image generated by reading a printed material on which an image is printed on the sheet, and inspecting the printed material based on the scanned image and the reference image corresponding to the scanned image. The controller is arranged to perform the inspection using reference data when the scanned image includes a blank page for which a corresponding reference image is not registered.
Claims12
An inspection system comprising:
- a printing control unit configured to cause a printing unit to perform printing on each of a plurality of recording media;
- a reading control unit configured to read a printed material by a reading unit and generate a read image;
- an inspection control unit configured to perform an inspection by comparing, based on a print instruction issued by a user, a RIP image relating to the print instruction and a read image generated by reading, by the reading control unit, a printed material printed by the printing control unit based on the print instruction;
- and
- a print stop control unit configured to stop printing of the printing unit based on successive occurrences of abnormal inspection results by the inspection control unit a predetermined number of times or more.
An inspection system comprising:
- a printing control unit configured to cause a printing unit to perform printing on each of a plurality of recording media;
- a reading control unit configured to read a printed material by a reading unit and generate a read image;
- an inspection control unit configured to perform an inspection by comparing, based on a print instruction issued by a user, a first RIP image obtained by performing image processing on print data relating to the print instruction and a read image generated by reading, by the reading control unit, a printed material printed by the printing control unit based on a second RIP image obtained by performing image processing on the print data relating to the print instruction;
- and
- a print stop control unit configured to stop printing of the printing unit based on successive occurrences of abnormal inspection results by the inspection control unit a predetermined number of times or more.
An inspection method comprising:
- causing a printing unit to perform printing on each of a plurality of recording media;
- reading a printed material by a reading unit and generating a read image;
- performing an inspection by comparing, based on a print instruction issued by a user, a RIP image relating to the print instruction and a read image generated by reading, by the reading unit, a printed material printed by the printing unit based on the print instruction;
- and
- stopping printing of the printing unit based on abnormal inspection results occurring successively a predetermined number of times or more.
An inspection method comprising:
- causing a printing unit to perform printing on each of a plurality of recording media;
- reading a printed material by a reading unit and generating a read image;
- performing an inspection by comparing, based on a print instruction issued by a user, a first RIP image obtained by performing image processing on print data relating to the print instruction and a read image generated by reading, by the reading unit, a printed material printed by the printing unit based on a second RIP image obtained by performing image processing on the print data relating to the print instruction;
- and
- stopping printing of the printing unit based on abnormal inspection results occurring successively a predetermined number of times or more.
