Information processing apparatus, non-transitory computer readable medium storing program, and information processing method

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• an image forming unit;
• a communication device communicatively connected to the image forming unit;
• and
• a processor connected to the image forming unit and the communication device,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• operate the image forming apparatus in an operating mode in which processing or a function is executable;
• operate the image forming apparatus in a first power saving mode in which a first time is required for states of respective components constituting the image forming apparatus to change from a power saving state to a state in which the processing or the function is executable in the operating mode;
• hold a first transition time for transition from the operating mode to the first power saving mode;
• set the first transition time based on a usage status relating to a number of times of transition from the first power saving mode to the operating mode during a first period and a convenience target value;
• cause the image forming apparatus to transition from the operating mode to the first power saving mode in response to the first transition time having elapsed from a point in time at which the image forming apparatus was last operated by a user;
• and
• after setting the first transition time, change the first transition time to a second transition time based on the usage status.
