Abstract
According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, a collection unit, a full level detector, a display unit, and a processor. The image forming unit forms an image using toner. The collection unit collects, in a storage unit, waste toner generated in image forming processing by the image forming unit. The full level detector detects that the storage unit is full. The display unit displays information indicating that the storage unit is nearly full. The processor adjusts a display timing at which the display unit displays the information indicating that the storage unit is nearly full so that the storage unit becomes full after a predetermined period.

An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image forming unit that forms an image using toner;
- a collection unit that collects, in a storage unit, waste toner generated in image forming processing by the image forming unit;
- a full level detector that detects that the storage unit is full;
- a display unit that displays information indicating that the storage unit is nearly full;
- and
- a processor that adjusts a display timing at which the display unit displays the information indicating that the storage unit is nearly full so that the storage unit becomes full after a predetermined period.
