Abstract
An image forming apparatus comprises at least one motor, a motor controller that rotates the motor, and a drive transmitting member that transmits a driving force of the motor to a load. The image forming apparatus detects torque of the motor generated by transmission of the driving force to the load by the drive transmitting member, obtains amplitude of the torque that has been detected, and determines that the load or the drive transmitting member has an abnormality in a case where the amplitude of the torque exceeds a predetermined value.
Claims17
An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- at least one motor;
- a motor controller that rotates the motor;
- a drive transmitting member that transmits a driving force of the motor to a load;
- and
- one or more controllers including one or more processors and one or more memories, wherein the one or more controllers are configured to:
- detects torque of the motor generated by transmission of the driving force to the load by the drive transmitting member;
- obtain amplitude of the torque that has been detected;
- and
- determine that the load or the drive transmitting member has an abnormality in a case where the amplitude of the torque exceeds a predetermined value.
A method of controlling an image forming apparatus including at least one motor, a motor controller that rotates the motor, and a drive transmitting member that transmits a driving force of the motor to a load, the method comprising:
- detecting torque of the motor generated by transmission of a driving force to the load by the drive transmitting member;
- obtaining amplitude of the torque that has been detected;
- and
- determining that the load or the drive transmitting member has an abnormality in a case where the amplitude of the torque that has been obtained exceeds a predetermined value.
