Abstract

A head-up display apparatus includes two or more display apparatuses each configured to emit display light; and a mirror configured to reflect the display light emitted from each of the display apparatuses, the display apparatuses each including an image generator configured to generate a video, a projection optical element configured to form an intermediate image corresponding to the video, and a display controller configured to control operation of displaying the video, the intermediate images formed by the display apparatuses being so disposed that portions of the intermediate images overlap with each other so that a single overlapped intermediate image is created, the display controller being configured to perform image processing on overlapping portions where the intermediate images overlap with each other in a way that a continuous video is created, and the mirror being configured to reflect the display light from the overlapped intermediate image so as to be visually recognized as a virtual image by an observer.
