Abstract
An electromagnetic transducer, including a plurality of static flux paths, and a plurality of dynamic flux paths, wherein at least two of the plurality of static flux paths lie in respective first planes parallel and offset from one another, at least two of the plurality of dynamic flux paths lie in respective second planes parallel and offset from one another, and the first planes and the second planes are arrayed so as to establish at least a general tic-tac-toe lattice.

A method, comprising:
- generating a magnetic field based on an alternating electrical current;
- and
- harnessing the magnetic field to achieve movement of a structure, wherein
- the action of harnessing includes directing magnetic flux of the magnetic field across a first air gap and across a second airgap, and
- respective angles between respective faces establishing the first air gap and the second air gap change in an inverse one-to-one relationship during movement of the structure.
