Programming device

A programming device for creating a measurement program, the measurement program being for disposing, in a virtual space, an industrial machine system model that three-dimensionally represents an industrial machine system including an industrial machine and a to-be-measured object and includes an industrial equipment model and a to-be-measured object model, and for measuring a plurality of measurement sites on the to-be-measured object model, the programming device comprising:

• a measurement-site setting unit configured to set the plurality of measurement sites on the to-be-measured object model;
• a distance calculation unit configured to calculate distances between adjacent measurement sites in a region formed by linking the plurality of measurement sites;
• an area calculation unit configured to calculate an area of the region;
• a measurement-site evaluation unit configured to evaluate, on a basis of the area and the distances between the adjacent measurement sites, whether measurement with a prescribed accuracy set in advance or greater can be performed at the plurality of measurement sites;
• and
• a teaching-point generation unit configured to generate, when the measurement-site evaluation unit has evaluated that measurement with the prescribed accuracy or greater can be performed, the plurality of measurement sites as teaching points to be measured by the industrial machine.
