Stray light removal system and method for its removal

Abstract

The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a stray light removal system and a method for removing stray light, which can simultaneously improve optical performance, energy efficiency, and mechanical performance of a EO/IR system and a flight vehicle through weight reduction, energy self-generation, and selective activation technology utilizing an electroactive polymer or a photoactive polymer. An aspect of the present disclosure provides a stray light removal system, comprising: a sensing unit configured to detect stray light or external stimuli and generate an electric signal; an electrode unit configured to control and transmit the generated electric signal; a control unit configured to analyze stray light intensity based on the transmitted electric signal; a driving unit configured to operate under control of the control unit; and a baffle, wherein a length or an angle of the baffle is adjusted by operation of the driving unit to remove the stray light.
