Abstract
The invention is a scope mounting rail for a long gun that allows the use of male dovetail rear iron sight, which is machined into the scope mounting rail body, and a scope with scope rings mounted to the rail without compromising one or the other or the need to remove one or the other to use either the scope or male dovetail rear iron sight. There is an upward facing “U” shaped cut running the length of the scope mounting rail allowing the user to see/use the male dovetail rear iron sight without the need to remove the scope rings if they're mounted. The top of the scope mounting rail uses MIL-STD-1913 standard rib cuts so scope rings can be attached. The scope mounting rail has a contoured bottom that matches the top of a long gun receiver contour, and is attached with screws.
