A refrigerator appliance includes an ice maker appliance and a first water supply conduit configured to provide water to the ice maker appliance. An ice storage bin is positioned in an above-freezing temperature environment. A water collection reservoir is positioned to receive fluid from the ice storage bin. A transfer conduit fluidly couples the water collection reservoir to the water-receiving appliance. A second water supply conduit is configured to provide water to a water-receiving appliance. A flow control device is configured to selectively limit supply of water from the second water supply conduit and the transfer conduit to the water-receiving appliance. A water level sensor is communicatively coupled to the flow control device. The water level sensor is configured to command selective articulation of the flow control device to permit flow of water from the second water supply conduit and the transfer conduit to the water-receiving appliance.
