A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system may be used to heat and cool an indoor space with at least two refrigerant circuits. A first refrigerant circuit is formed by a single indoor heat exchanger in fluid communication with a first outdoor heat exchanger and a second refrigerant circuit is formed by the single indoor heat exchanger in fluid communication with a second outdoor heat exchanger. Additionally, the multi-circuit HVAC system may prevent the first refrigerant circuit and the second refrigerant circuit from operating in a defrost mode at the same time such that only one refrigerant circuit at a time enters the defrost mode. For example, when one of the first or second refrigerant circuits enters the defrost mode, the other refrigerant circuit may be operating in heating mode to compensate for the cooling produced by the refrigerant circuit in defrost mode.
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to heat and cool an indoor space with at least two refrigerant circuits, the HVAC system comprising:
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system operable to use a refrigerant to heat and cool an indoor space and comprising:
A method for using a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to heat or cool an indoor space and comprising:
