A pipe repair assembly comprising a deployment probe comprising a probe body defining a front end, a rear end, an outer surface, an inner void, and an annular groove, the annular groove extending in a radial direction from the outer surface toward a probe axis of the probe body; a stent moveable between a compressed configuration and an expanded configuration, the stent positioned adjacent the outer surface of the probe body in the compressed configuration; and a release mechanism coupled to the stent when the stent is in the compressed configuration, at least a portion of the release mechanism positioned in the inner void.
