Abstract
A wire raceway ball bearing includes a cage having a plurality of pockets, each pocket being configured to accommodate one ball. Each pocket has a pair of claws opposing each other in a circumferential direction, and each claw extends from an inner wall of the pocket in a first radial direction towards a radially inner side and in a second radially direction toward a radially outer side of the pocket. Also, a radial thickness of each claw is 44% to 47% of the ball diameter and an axial width of each claw is 58% to 60% of the ball diameter.
Claims11
A wire raceway ball bearing comprising:
- a cage having a plurality of pockets, each pocket being configured to accommodate one ball having a diameter;
- wherein each pocket includes a pair of claws opposing each other in a circumferential direction and each claw extends from an inner wall of the pocket in a first radial direction towards a radially inner side and a second radial direction towards a outer side;
- and
- wherein a radial thickness of each claw is 44% to 47% of the ball diameter and an axial width of each claw is 58% to 60% of the ball diameter.
A cage strip for forming a cage for a wire raceway ball bearing, the cage strip comprising:
- an elongated strip of material having a length and a width and a thickness and including a plurality of pockets, each pocket being configured to accommodate one ball having a ball diameter,
- wherein each pocket includes a pair of claws opposing each other in a length direction of the elongated strip of material,
- wherein each claw of the pair of claws includes a first portion projecting from an inner wall of the pocket in a first thickness direction of the elongated strip of material and a second portion projecting from the inner wall of the pocket in a second thickness direction of the elongated strip of material opposite the first thickness direction of the elongated strip of material;
- and
- wherein a thickness of each claw in the thickness direction of the elongated strip of material is 44% to 47% of the ball diameter, and a width of each claw in a width direction of the elongated strip of material is 58% to 60% of the ball diameter.
