Disclosed is a fastener assembly for securing a first component to a second component. The fastener assembly includes an embeddable insert, a base component, and a seal element. The embeddable insert includes a cylindrical body with external threads. The cylindrical body defines a passageway with internal threads configured to engage a fastener. The base component includes a cylindrical body defining an insert cavity configured to receive and retain the embeddable insert, and a seal flange adjacent an opening to the insert cavity. The seal element is positioned on the seal flange and forms a seal between the first component and the base component when assembled.
