Abstract
A heat harvesting system includes an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) generator, including an ORC evaporator and an ORC condenser. The ORC condenser provides a facility fluid to a first heat source, and the heat source returns the facility fluid to the ORC evaporator. The facility fluid flows from the ORC condenser through the first heat source to the ORC evaporator, and the facility fluid absorbs a first heat from the first heat source. A temperature of the facility fluid flowing to the ORC condenser is lower than a temperature of the facility fluid flowing from the ORC evaporator.
Claims28
A heat harvesting system, comprising:
- an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) generator, comprising an ORC evaporator and an ORC condenser;
- wherein the ORC condenser provides a facility fluid to a first heat source, and the heat source returns the facility fluid to the ORC evaporator;
- wherein the facility fluid flows from the ORC condenser through the first heat source to the ORC evaporator, and the facility fluid absorbs a first heat from the first heat source;
- wherein a temperature of the facility fluid flowing to the ORC condenser is lower than a temperature of the facility fluid flowing from the ORC evaporator.
A reheating method, comprising:
- forming a circuit of a facility fluid between an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) generator and a heat source;
- and
- the facility fluid absorbing a heat from the heat source before entering an ORC evaporator;
- wherein within the circuit, the facility fluid flows from an ORC condenser, through the heat source and to the ORC evaporator;
- wherein the ORC generator comprises the ORC evaporator and ORC condenser.
A preheating method, comprising:
- forming a circuit of a working fluid within an organic Rankine cycle generator, wherein a heat generating component is disposed within the circuit of the working fluid;
- forming an insulation subspace to encompass the heat generating component within the circuit of the working fluid;
- and
- the working fluid absorbing a heat from the heat generating component within the insulation subspace.
