Abstract
The invention relates to a heating device (40) for heating a gas flow comprising a heating element (1) adapted to enable heat exchange to the gas flow, wherein the heating element (1) comprises at least one resistance element (10) comprising a plate-shaped base body (20), the base body (20) comprising opposite first and second surfaces (21, 22) connected by opposite third and fourth surfaces (23, 24), wherein the heating element (1) is connectable to a source of electrical power, such that the heating element (1) can be heated up through resistive heating. Improved heat transfer characteristics and increased service life of the heating device (40) are achieved in that the resistance element (10) comprises at least one protrusion (30) protruding from the first and/or the second surface (21, 22) of the base body (20).

A heating device for heating a gas flow, comprising:
- a heating element configured to enable heat exchange to the gas flow, the heating element including at least one resistance element including a strip-shaped base body, the base body including opposite first and second surfaces each extending in both a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction of the base body, and the base body including opposite third and fourth surfaces each having a smaller surface area than each of the first and second surfaces;
- wherein the heating element includes a plurality of connection areas configured to be connected to a source of electrical power such that the heating element can be heated up through resistive heating;
- and
- wherein the at least one resistance element includes at least one protrusion protruding from the first and/or the second surface of the base body in a direction of protrusion.
