Abstract
An apparatus and method for spacing a drainpipe wherein the drainpipe includes a substantially vertical riser pipe. A substantially cylindrical spacer pipe has a longitudinal axis and is adaptable to receive the riser pipe within the spacer pipe. At least one removable sleeve has an aperture extending therethrough for adaptably receiving the riser pipe. The at least one removable sleeve has a plurality of arms extending radially outward from a longitudinal axis of the at least one removable sleeve. Each of the plurality of arms has an end surface for engaging an inner surface of the spacer pipe and is adaptable to coaxially align the longitudinal axis of the riser pipe with the longitudinal axis of the spacer pipe.

An apparatus for spacing a drainpipe wherein the drainpipe includes a substantially vertical riser pipe, comprising:
- a substantially cylindrical spacer pipe having a longitudinal axis and adaptable to receive the riser pipe within the spacer pipe;
- at least one removable sleeve having an aperture extending therethrough for adaptably receiving the riser pipe;
- and
- the at least one removable sleeve having a plurality of arms extending radially outward from a longitudinal axis of the at least one removable sleeve, and each of the plurality of arms having an end surface for engaging an inner surface of the spacer pipe and adaptable to coaxially align the riser pipe with the longitudinal axis of the spacer pipe.
A method for spacing a drainpipe wherein the drainpipe includes a vertical riser pipe having a longitudinal axis, comprising:
- placing a substantially cylindrical spacer pipe over the riser pipe to adaptably receive the riser pipe within the spacer pipe;
- providing at least one removable sleeve with a plurality of arms extending radially outward from a longitudinal axis of the sleeve wherein each of the plurality of arms has an end surface;
- and
- removably installing the at least one removable sleeve along a longitudinal axis of the spacer pipe and the riser pipe wherein an aperture extending through the at least one removable sleeve adaptably receives the riser pipe and wherein the end surfaces of the plurality of arms of the at least one removable sleeve engage an inner surface of the spacer pipe to coaxially align the longitudinal axis of the spacer pipe with the longitudinal axis of the spacer pipe.
