Abstract
A prop-brace coupler has a first section configured to be selectively connected to a vertical prop member of a construction platform that includes a vertical spacing member and a diagonal bracing member. The prop-brace coupler also has a second section configured to be selectively connected to the vertical spacing member and to the diagonal bracing member.
Claims20
A method of coupling a prop-brace coupler to a construction platform, comprising:
- positioning a first clamp head and a second clamp head of a prop-brace coupler in an expanded position;
- receiving a surface feature of a vertical prop member between clamp jaws of the first and second clamp heads;
- moving the first and second clamp heads relative to one another into a clamped position such that the surface feature is grasped between the clamp jaws;
- and
- inserting at least one plunger pin supported on a rear section of the second clamp head into at least one plunge hole defined in a rear section of the first clamp head to secure at least one of a vertical spacing member or a diagonal bracing member.

A method of assembling a construction platform, comprising:
- providing a vertical prop member having a plurality of vertically-extending grooves circumferentially spaced around the vertical prop member;
- positioning a first prop-brace coupler at a selected vertical position along the vertical prop member;
- engaging a first clamp jaw of the first prop-brace coupler with a first groove of the vertical prop member;
- securing the first prop-brace coupler to the vertical prop member using a second clamp jaw;
- coupling a vertical spacing member and a diagonal bracing member to a rear section of the first prop-brace coupler;
- and
- positioning a second prop-brace coupler at the same vertical position along the vertical prop member and engaging the second prop-brace coupler with a second groove.
