Abstract
An ammunition cartridge case annealing system captures data which varies based on physical properties of the cartridge case. Data is gathered before, during, and after annealing from an induction coil and from sensors. Data may be analyzed to determine the physical properties of cartridge cases. A machine sorts cartridge cases by their physical properties.
Claims20
An apparatus for annealing a cartridge case, comprising:
- an electrical conductor configured to generate an alternating magnetic field from an alternating electrical current;
- a data unit configured to capture at least one data point which is influenced by at least one physical property of the cartridge case;
- and
- a processor operably coupled to the data unit;
- wherein the processor is configured to determine a result through a comparison of the at least one data point and a standard.

A method for annealing a cartridge case, comprising:
- generating an alternating magnetic field by supplying an alternating electrical current to an electrical conductor;
- capturing at least one data point which is influenced by at least one physical property of the cartridge case;
- providing the at least one data point to a processor;
- and
- determining a result through a comparison of the at least one data point and a standard according to a comparison protocol.
2 more elements
A system for annealing a cartridge case, comprising:
- an induction head comprising an electrical conductor configured to generate an alternating magnetic field from an alternating electrical current;
- a data unit configured to capture at least one data point which is influenced by at least one physical property of the cartridge case;
- and
- a processor configured to determine a result based on a comparison between the at least one data point and a standard;
- wherein the processor is operably coupled to the data unit.
