Abstract

An anvil of an ultrasonic sealing system is for transversally sealing a tube of packaging material. The anvil comprises a ridge extending along a transversal direction of the anvil, wherein the ridge comprises: a mid-section, and a first and a second peripheral section, arranged on either side of the mid-section, wherein the first and second peripheral section comprises a respective first sub-portion and a respective second sub-portion, wherein the respective first sub-portion is arranged between the mid-section and the respective second sub-portion, and wherein the first sub-portion of the ridge has a first slope angle and the second sub-portion of the ridge has a second slope angle, wherein the first slope angle is different from the second slope angle.
