Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a discharge unit configured to discharge a print medium in a first direction, a stacking unit configured to stack, on a stacking surface, the print medium discharged in the first direction by the discharge unit, and a regulation unit configured to regulate, on the stacking surface of the stacking unit, a position of a front edge of the print medium in the first direction. The regulation unit is configured to change, by use of a drive source, between a first posture, in which the front edge of the discharged print medium is regulated by an abutting surface on which the front edge abuts, and a second posture, in which the front edge of the discharged print medium is not regulated.
