Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a composition for enhancing a skin barrier, comprising a complex extract of red ginseng, Centella asiatica, Houttuynia cordata, and Lonicerae Flos as active ingredients. The complex extract of red ginseng, Centella asiatica, Houttuynia cordata, and Lonicerae Flos of the present disclosure has no cytotoxicity and has excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, and thus may be effectively used as a cosmetic composition or health functional food composition for enhancing a skin barrier and may be effectively used as a cosmetic composition or pharmaceutical composition for improving skin inflammation.

A method for preparing a complex extract comprising:
- a) preparing a mixture by mixing red ginseng, Centella asiatica, Houttuynia cordata and Lonicerae Flos;
- and
- b) preparing a complex extract by ultrasonically extracting the mixture.
