Abstract
The present invention relates to inositol phosphates, analogs, derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, for use in increasing tissular perfusion and/or oxygenation in a subject in need thereof, in particular peripheral arterial disease. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising said inositol phosphates, analogs, derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, and their use in increasing tissular perfusion and/or oxygenation and for treating and preventing peripheral arterial disease.

A method of increasing walking ability in a human subject suffering from peripheral arterial disease (PAD), comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of inositol hexaphosphate hexasodium salt (SNF472) to the subject, wherein the subject has loss of mobility due to PAD, wherein SNF472 is administered to the subject in a unit dose between 450 mg and 900 mg per dose, and wherein the administration of SNF472 improves the walking ability of the subject as measured by maximal walking time (MWT) and/or maximal walking distance (MWD).
A method of increasing tissular perfusion and/or oxygenation in a human subject suffering from PAD, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of SNF472 to the subject, wherein the SNF472 is administered in a unit dose between 450 mg and 900 mg per dose, and wherein the administration of the SNF472 increases tissular perfusion and/or oxygenation.
A method of treating and/or preventing an ischemia-related condition in a human subject suffering from PAD, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of SNF472 to the subject, wherein the SNF472 is administered a unit dose between 450 mg and 900 mg per dose, and wherein the administration of the SNF472 treats and/or prevents the ischemia-related condition.
